We, Marcel and Ed, have been working on a project for the 1802 based COMX-35 for a while now. After 2 1/2 years, we proudly present the COMX-35 SuperBoard! Ed designed and built all the hardware and Marcel wrote the firmware and related PC side software. Support for the SuperBoard is almost complete in the Emma 02 emulator. Here are some highlights: - USB interface to allow access to PC hard disk for loading software from and to the COMX-35 - USB interface can be used for basic text web browsing and email on the COMX-35 - Real time clock with battery backup - 1K NVRAM including support for COMX system settings - 3 32K EEPROMs, used for firmware and replacement of the original COMX ROM - 64K of on board RAM - Built in games - Built in utilities - 2 joystick connections based on the F&M joycard - 3 expansion slots - All features supported by the new "USB [function]" BASIC command - Bug fixes for original COMX BASIC To view all the enhancements, please have a look at the SuperBoard Manual located here: http://www.sb.hobby-site.com/Superboard_V1_2_Manual.doc We have also put together a chronicle of the project. For the detailed story, have a look at our new COMX-35 web site: We are currently up to firmware version 188 and PC software version 96. We have also put up a "High Score" page that records the scores of some of the most popular COMX-35 games. It can be viewed here: SuperBoard support in Emma 02 is coming soon! For now only a windows release is planned, Linux and OS-X will follow eventually. We have started a new Yahoo group for the COMX-35, the SuperBoard and all things COMX at: Come and join us there and feel free to ask any questions you like about our project. This was a project we did just for fun. There were no plans to sell the SuperBoard, but if there is interest they could be made available. We hope you found this interesting.
